Lesson 2: Safety
– It is a requirement of our events that you wear the following to ensure your safety:

Hi-vis

 Hi-vis must be used at all times whilst on site.

Closed-in shoes

 Due to the active nature and handling of heaving materials, closed in shoes must be worn at all times.
– When working on or near the roadway (whether open or closed) you must be aware of what is happening around you. Never put yourself at risk.
– We recommend you take the following precautions to ensure your safety:

Gloves

 Use gloves when handling metal or packing tape.
o Snips (cutters)
 Handle snips with care as edges will be sharp
o Trip hazards
 Trips hazards such as soft sand or extension leads must be covered with tape, carpet or hard coverings.
